Using Technology in the Chinese Classroom
Main Purposes:
1. The teacher can use Jing (a screen capture tool) to quickly create a movie clip (i.e. by record whatever he/she chooses to capture on the computer screen for up to 5 minutes) for learning or assessment activities; add narration/instruction or music as needed.
2. The teacher can play back Jing movies in class or post them on a web system that students have access to (e.g. Blackboard).
3. The student can use Jing to complete short oral or written projects, such as a digital story-telling using images, giving directions using maps, or explaining a process of doing something.
How to Use Jing:
1.Download Jing (following the link above), and install it as instructed.
2.Start Jing and will be able to use it in minutes! Watch the tutorial below (6 minutes). Enjoy!
